Kenya
One of the most thought-provoking experiences of my life. Beauty and devastation waltz in a way I’ve never seen in Australia. From the boundless slums of Nairobi city to the boundless plains of the Serengeti- predator and pray, death and life, blood and paint. In Kenya, moments that were to me, a stunning example of human determination, was to them- the everyday struggle. What was to me a lollipop selling for less than one cent, was to them- a mercy plea. What is to me, waking up under warm Australian wool, would be to them like awakening from sleep into a dream. The city’s are chaos, the tax collectors carry spears, the lioness’ target the foals first. And amidst all this, the sticker on every Tuk Tuk reads: “God is good all the time, all the time God is good.”
