Nepal

In 2025 I went over to Nepal with 3 of my close friends. We landed exactly one week after the people of Nepal overthrew their government. The people rioted in the streets, the palaces were burnt down, the police opened fire, the military took over, curfews were put into place, and all online guides strongly advised tourists to change their plans. We nearly cancelled our trip when the airport closed. However, when it re-opened, the call-to-adventure was too strong, and 4 scared Aussies left the tarmac. When we landed, much to our surprise, we were met with a seemingly unaffected Nepal. That’s when we first learnt that growth and opportunity are a privilege, and one that most of Nepal have never known. They are small people, Nepali’s, but they have a mountainous spirit to keep climbing, to make beauty, to be kind, and to celebrate, even amidst the most dire circumstances.
