Harry & Charlotte

After having broke my 70-200mm lens that week, I had hurriedly purchased the much larger, more obnoxious, and really made for shooting birds or beating home intruders- 150-600mm lens. This of course meant that Harry and Charlotte had to put up with my best pirate impression as I zoomed in and out with the massive telescopic lens. It’s not always easy finding fresh ideas in a beach shoot. Bit sandy, bit wet, bit windy, and the constant urge to take that footprints in the sand shot. Yet, for Harry and Charlotte’s engagement shoot at Willunga beach, it was a walk in the park. It was a walk in the sand. There I said it. Had to be done and I’m sorry. A willing couple is always a pleasure to shoot- these two wanted great photos and they were willing to wet their ankles for the cause. A simple direction of “go explore those rocks over there” led to one of my most proud compositions, the two of them perfectly lit by the afternoon sun with the shadow on the cliffs behind acting as a neat backdrop. Definitively one of my favourite beach shoots so far. All the best to these adventurous spirits.
